The Verde Valley Senior Center is a volunteer-driven 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that provides nutrition and socialization programs for our local senior population, and is also a lifeline for hundreds of homebound, aging residents who wish to remain independent, living in their own homes. During the past year the Senior Center provided more than 60,000 hot, nutritious meals in our congregate dining room and to homebound individuals living in communities around the Verde Valley. It is your support for our local communities that has allowed us to serve more elderly residents than ever before, and for that we are grateful.
For tax year 2018, the Arizona Department of Revenue has implemented a policy change. All certified charities have been assigned a QCO (Qualifying Charitable Organization) Code, which will identify the organization to donors seeking to utilize the AZ tax credit. Please note that the QCO Code for the Verde Valley Senior Center is: 20238. https://www.azdor.gov/sites/default/files/media/CREDITS_2018_qco.pdf
The AZ Charitable Tax Credit ceiling still stands at $400.00 for individuals and $800.00 for joint filers. However, you will now be required to use the QCO Code to claim the credit in your AZ tax return. Remember, every dollar you donate to the Senior Center is a dollar less you owe in AZ taxes (up to the Tax Credit ceiling). Also, you can claim the Tax Credit for your donation to the Senior Center as well as claim an additional credit for the AZ School Tax Program if you wish.
The Arizona Department of Revenue form that you need when you file your taxes is Form 321 – 2018.
For instructions on filling out Form 321 to receiving the credit, as well as forms for previous years:
Every donation we receive helps keep our tax dollars local, working towards the welfare of senior citizens in the Verde Valley.
