2015 Oktoberfest Scarecrow Contest
There was a lot of participation in the first ever scarecrow building contest here at the Verde Valley Senior Center during the Oktoberfest party on Wednesday, October 21st. The winner was Ledith Padgett with her handsome scarecrow. To top off the event Root Beer floats were served after lunch.
2015 USO Dance and Soup Kitchen Fundraiser
The Verde Valley Senior Centers' 7th Annual "March-a-Mile for Meals"
This fundraiser was held on Saturday, March 28th. Mayor Diane Joens help lead the way for the many that came out to support Meals-on-Wheels. Heading up the rear was our all time favorite Bill Minor. who is 93 years old and walks in this event every year. There was a scrumptious pancake & sausage breakfast (donated by Randall's and Denny's restaurants) waiting for everyone when they got back.
We would like to thank all the volunteers, Verde Valley Medical Center All-Med Medical Supplies, Spectrum Healthcare and Cottonwood Village for their sponsorship and for those companies that donated for the raffles we couldn't do it without your help and support. Thank you and see you next year!
Mardi Gras at the VVSC

Joan Lambard was crowned Queen for the day because she found the baby in the King Cake. A beautiful Aromatherapy Bath Set was donated by Linda Shuttleworth and won by Joyce Olson.
2015 Golf Ball Drop
The Verde Valley Senior Center would like to thank Sedona Air Tours for dropping the golf balls, the Verde Santa Fe Golf Club for the use of their golf course. The 1st place winner is Sam Blom, whose ball went in the hole. The 2nd place winner was Verde Valley Ambulance's very own Kim Moore. Congratulations to you both!
The Verde Valley Senior Center's 8th Annual Golf Tournament will be in the Spring. Please look for upcoming information.
Easter at the Verde Valley Senior Center
It was a great success due to the sponsorship of D & O Crane Co. A great BIG THANK YOU goes out to them from everyone here. We had an ice cream social and a Easter bonnet contest. The winner of the best bonnet was Gretchen Holiday and she won a $25 gift certificate to Annie's Restaurant located on Mingus right next to the Post Office. On guitar jamming all afternoon was Michael Midkiff. I also would like to thank the very special volunteers that help out when ever you are asked. There are so many of you I hope you know how very much we appreciate you. Because we really do!!! Thank you!!!
